Pre Stressed Metallic Sleeve

We have been providing Pre Stressed Metallic Sleeve for more than four decades now. Reli Sleeve has been manufacturing repair sleeves for the pipeline industry, be it oil, gas or waterline projects. We have a repair solution for all your needs.

The Pre Stressed Metallic Sleeve are used for adding structural integrity to the pipeline and flaws defects using shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) technique. These Pre Stressed Metallic Sleeve are perfectly ideal to repair anomalies such as dents, gouges and corrosion. This Pre Stressed Metallic Sleeve is not welded to the pipeline, only longitudinal welds are made. Click here for API 5L Pipe Sleeve.

PROPERTIES OF PRE STRESSED METALLIC SLEEVE

One of the major benefits for the clients of the Pre Stressed Metallic Sleeves, as compared to the other sleeves, is that it is highly resistant to temperature, rust and pressure. Hence, we can claim with pride that we provide sturdy, best quality Pre Stressed Metallic Sleeves pipes for multiple uses. There are two primary categories of pre stressed metallic sleeves: Type A and Type B.There are two main issues with welding onto in-service pipelines, be it for fitting repair sleeves or installing a branch connection prior to “hot tapping”. The first one being “burn through”, where the pipe wall gets penetrated due to the welding arc. The second issue is called as hydrogen cracking, since welds made in-service cool at an increasing rate because of the ability of the flowing contents to extract the heat from the pipe wall.

PRODUCTION OF PRE STRESSED METALLIC SLEEVE

After immense research and development ,we can rightly with pride that we provide sturdy , high quality Prestressed Metallic Sleeves pipes for diverse uses. Reli Sleeve are one of the best producers of the Pre Stressed Metallic Sleeves. The production process of full encirclement steel sleeve are elaborately done from the latest technology and highest industry standard machinery. Our production team is an experienced one with over a decade of knowledge of the field.

FEATURES OF PRE STRESSED METALLIC SLEEVE

  • All plates are squared and sheared accurately to close tolerances.
  • RELI-SLEEVE Soles and Sleeves are formed on our Presses using special dies to assure accuracy and uniformity.
  • After forming all pieces are inspected to assure the closest possible tolerances for field installation in the harshest environments.
  • After forming all pieces are inspected to assure the closest possible tolerances for field installation in the harshest environments.
  • Custom fabricated to meet standard or special sizes, thickness and material grade requirements.

WELDING ONTO AN IN-SERVICE PIPELINE

A burn through, or blowout as it is sometimes referred, will occur when welding onto a pressurized pipe if the unmelted area beneath the weld pool has insufficient strength to contain the internal pressure of the pipe (see Figure 6). A burn through typically results in a small pinhole in the bottom of what was the weld pool. The risk of burnthrough will increase as the pipe wall thickness decreases and the weld penetration increases.
