Repairing a Split Sleeves are used to repair a wide range of high and low-pressure, high and low-temperature pipelines, including oil, water, gas, steam, and chemical process pipelines. Bolts connect the clamp halves, forming a high-integrity pressure vessel around the broken or leaking pipe.
Molded elastomer seals of the finest quality are used for sealing, and they are chosen for compatibility with the pipeline product and operating temperature. If the circumstances warrant it, these sleeves can also be welded after installation to create a permanent seal.
Repairing a Split Clamps are an important feature of our pipeline integrity product line. The clamp product line is available in a wide range of sizes, ratings, and configurations, and can be purchased separately or as an add-on to larger repair systems.
Split Repair Clamps provide a new dimension to your pipeline repair job, both temporary and permanent. They are used to repair oil, gas, steam, chemical process, and water pipes that are both offshore and onshore and carry high and low pressure and temperature. API 5L Pipe Sleeve can be found here. PROPERTIES OF SPLIT REPAIR SLEEVE
The clamps of split sleeve are thoroughly hydro statically tested to 1.3 times the required working pressure. All Clamps are prepared with a half inch vent port depending on size and clients requirements & specifications. All the sleeves are made according to the API specifications. They match the design specifications of the customers & industry specifications. All our sleeves are easy to install & maintain. They designed so that they can be easily installed with the most common tools available & also can be readily repaired. Our split repair clamps are economically viable as they are made using the latest technology, improving the design techniques & materials which are also low in weight.
MATERIALS USED FOR SPLIT REPAIR SLEEVE
Split sleeve clamps are made as per the materials required for the clients. The materials used are of impeccable quality which are in accordance to industry specifications. ANSI pressure classes 300, 400, 600, 900 & 1500 are used. Design control and stress analysis are done with body materials suitable for normally corrosive services. Girder rings can also be installed as per the clients’ requirements. Double row sealing design are used in cases where leakage in the pipes are very costly like in the case of pipelines carrying gases.
ASTM A283 GRADES : Grade A , Grade B , Grade C , Grade D.
ASTM A285 GRADES : Grade A , Grade B , Grade C.

This special design is more suitable for where probable leakage is much costly or dangerous; such as gaseous services & offshore applications.
WELDABLE SPLIT SLEEVE
All clamps can be fully prepared for welding after installation (welding procedure is available on request).
Heat insulators (parallel to the seals) protect the seals from heat during the welding of the sleeves to the pipe .
PRODUCTION OF SPLIT REPAIR SLEEVE
All split sleeve clamps can be prepared for welding after installation. Heat insulators which run parallel to the seals protect them from heat during the welding of the sleeves to the pipe. We can manufacture these clamps with longer lengths if requested by the clients.
CUSTOMIZATION
Split clamps are made as per the requirements of the customer. All the specifications like body material i.e. carbon steel/stainless steel, studs & nuts for specifications as well as materials of seal are of superior quality which are durable & matches the client’s requirements.
MARKING & SHIPPING
Every sleeves is marked for the grade of the steel used, size, thickness & batch of production. Before the shipment each product is inspected and the products which do not match our stringent quality, standards are not shipped.
BENEFITS
-
- Can be used in cases of leaking pipes or where wall thinning occurs
- They are self-sealing, achieved by bolting of the clamp studs
- Standard clamps come in single seal arrangement, but double seal arrangement can be provided upon request
FEATURES
-
- Standard Clamps are fitted with a high grade elastomeric seal made from Buna-Nitrile or Viton. In these applications the sealing load is achieved through the bolt tensioning of the clamp studs (split sleeve design)
- All Clamps are designed with an external pressure test facility that determines the joint integrity prior to commissioning
- Twin seal configuration is also available to allow inter-seal testing to be carried out during installation.
- Clamps may be supplied for both topside and sub sea repair applications.
DESIGN STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS
-
- ANSI pressure classes 300, 400, 600, 900 and 1500
- Design based on API 6H.
- Design calculation ASME Sec. VIII Div. I
- Body materials: A216 WCB, A216 WCC, A352 LCC, A516 Gr.70 (Suitable for normally corrosive services)

EASE OF INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE
All sleeves are designed to be installed with the most common tools available and are readily field repairable, including full seal replacement.
SPLIT SLEEVE INSTALLATION
- Provide space enough in the lower part of the pipe in the term to install the half sleeve. The distance should be at least 0.75D.
- Clean up the pipe where the split sleeve will be installed on.
Grease the surfaces that will be in contact with the gasket of the split sleeve.
- Install the upper sleeve and the bolts in the shortest holes.
- Each half sleeve is marked on the side. Check the marking is on the same sider. Lift up the lower sleeve & fit the bolts through the thinner part of the sleeve edge.
- Tight up the bolts, if necessary weld the edge of the split sleeve.
SAFETY
The clamps are fully compensatory pressure vessels, hydrostatically tested to 1.3 times the rated working pressure (as per ASME Section VIII Div.1 clause UG-99)
